Hi Adri,

you will be sick of hearing from me.....

so this morning staff tried to start the 4D client in the shop and this is the message that appeared on the screen.....

"REDO PRODUCT IN CORSO! TRY LATER.

4D is currently performing a back up for the database. your action has been delayed until the back up process has completed.

An box with ABORT in it appeared but couldn't be clicked."

So they left it until I arrived. I went onto the 4D SERVER and when I clicked onto the screen a box appeared with this message WAITING FOR RECORD TO BE UNLOCKED BY PROCESS #5 with a button that said STOP. I pressed STOP and then a box with button options that said STOP ALL , STOP & COMPLETE.

I pressed STOP ALL and then boxes kept coming up with the same options. I keep trying to stop all but everytime I pressed the STOP ALL another part of the back up process would come up.....anyway because this didn't appear to be working I decided to quit the SERVER. Then we restarted the SERVER and CLIENT in the shop. Then I did a REDO stock. That is still in process and has been for about 45 minutes.

The system opened Saturday and Sunday just fine.....

Help.....
Kathleen

It sounds like something went wrong during a RedoProduct, possibly the fact that it was launched while one of the other Clients were still connected and also inside a Stock Record. It is very important to always quit all other 4D Clients when launching a Redo Product. As well as the Client that launches it needs to be out of all other modules. What it could also have happened is that after the RedoProduct had been launched and before it had finished executing on the Server you went into a Stock Record to check! If the Redo Product had not been completed this would have created the issue!

To fix it I suggest that you try one of the following:

1) Quit the 4D Server, relaunch the 4D Server and run a new Redo Product
2) Reinstall a new version of AM

It sound like you have interrupted the system while the indexes were being rebuilt. This can lead to all sort of problems, so I suggest you do one of the above steps.

Let me know,
Adri
