I am working on learning the stock take module so I just have some questions if you don't mind answering them for me please.

1: We have many discrepancies in our stock inventory. Could we put our whole inventory back to zero easily and update it when we do the stock take.

2: If we don't put the inventory back to zero, will Artsmagna update our inventory automatically.

3: I don't seem to have a function for adding extra lines. The icon I have is oval with 3 dots in the middle (this is in the same position as the icon on the tutorial so I am picking it is the add line icon) it does not seem to do anything.

Hi Raewyn,

I hope you had a happy and safe Easter.

1)No need to put the inventory back to zero. When you run the Stocktake procedure the quantities will be automatically adjusted to whatever you have counted

2)See above

3)You have to click on the +100 icon, this adds 100 lines at a time

I am just going through the stock take module again
The stock take module on the tutorial is a bit different to the one we have
We dont seem to have +100 on ours.
As I said to you before we have an icon with 3 small dots in it . . .
When I click on this icon nothing happens, perhaps this is the +100 icon it is in the same place as the one on the tutorial.
Please advise me

Hi Raewyn,

Can you please take a snapshot of this stocktake screen and email it to me, so that I can have a look at it. In order to do that you press Command+Shift+3 on your keyboard and that will place a pdf file with the screen shot on your desktop. Make sure you use the 3 on the alpha numeric part of the keyboard.

Hi Raewyn,

Yes, the +100 button is the 3 dots on your screen! Obviously on Mac the fonts are bigger and do not fit, I need to fix this in future version.

When you click this button what happens is that 100 empty lines (this is why you think nothing happens), are added to the list below. Also you can use this module from the second page which will make more sense if you do not have images. After you have clicked you need to position your cursor on the first line’s in the Stock Code field. And go from there.

A couple more questions

1- When we do our stock-take can we scan one item at a time and when we come across an item with the same code that has already been scanned will the system add the items up already been scanned
The problem is we have alot of inventory out the back of the shop and we just dont want to have to get all of the same items together to be scanned we want to run around the shop with the scanner scanning individual items and hope the system will add it all up at the end

2- Because most of the labels that we have printed will not scan can we manually input the items with out creating problems by using either the record ID or the stock code

1)You can change the Qty found field to handle this prior to scanning and it will take care of multiple Qtys or you can scan multiple times.


2)Yes, you can manually enter and then Tab

When we manually input the stock code into the stock take module it seems we can only input stock using the record ID. Is this correct?

I would like to know if there is a way to input stock using the stock code which seems to be the next box along from record ID but for some reason I can not work with in that particular box

Hi Raewyn,

Yes, you should be able to type either codes in the ID field. So you do not need to use the Stock Code field, rather type the Stock Code in the ID field and it will still recognize it. You need to make sure to type the all code though, as part code will not trigger a list in this module.
