New Computer 3 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Adriano
Its been a long time since we had issues.

We have another new computer which is replacing one of the computers
in our office. Which had to go because it was on lone. Kathleen
deleted 4D client off that computer
We have copied 4D client over on to the new computer (server is still
on the original computer)

Up untill just now I have been using 4D client on the new computer.

Problem is 4D client froze on me so I shut it down when I tried to
open 4D Client I get a message saying too many registered users (or
something like that) then I can't open 4D client. I shut down the new
computer only, restart it and I can use 4D client again.

How can I fix this so it doesn't happen in the future.

Thanks heaps
Raewyn

Hi Raewyn,

If you force quit 4DClient or restart the PC it is running on without quitting it first, sometimes it can leave the original session still running on the 4DServer for a few minutes. It generally should clear within a few minutes but if it doesn’t than a 4DServer restart will clear everything.

This is a very rare occurrence, I would not expect to see this often. If you do you might need to investigate on what is making the 4DClient hang. Maybe you have a Energy Saving parameter in the new Mac that disconnect the Mac or puts it to sleep if unused! Make sure you deactivate a full Sleep mode and simply run a Screen Saver.

Take care for now,
Adriano
