Networking issues - Error -10002 3 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Adriano,
I keep getting the same error message again - Error #10002 when trying to access AM.
I have restarted/shut down the computers three time but I still get the same message.

I do get in to the server but then when I get to the database Im just getting the error message.

I don't know if you remember but I have had the same message once before.

Cheers,
Karin

Hi Karin,

Make sure you shut down all computers and power off/on the Network Hub/Switch. Then restart the Computers and retry.

That error is related to a network communication issue. It means that the 4D Client and 4D Server can't talk to each other via the network.

A few things you can try:

1) Switch off both Macs.
2) Try switching off the Hub/Switch and then back on.
3) Try switching off the Modem/Router and then back on.
4) Restart both Macs.
5) Check the lights 1,2,3 etc. you should have One for each Mac and one for each printer plus one for the router (unless the router is also a 4 port switch). 4 in total at least should be on.
6) Check if you can access one Mac from the other. Just the File Share and hard disk of each other.
7) Can they both go on the Internet?
8) Restart the 4DServer and then try connecting the 4D Client. Do you have problem connecting even the 4DClient on the 4D Server?

I am off from 10 am my time tomorrow morning. If you can't fix it with the above try skyping me early morning.

Catch you soon,
Adriano
