Hi Adriano
Are we able to install the new MAC operating system TIGER. Will it be compatible with Arts Magna.
The reason being Tiger has a time machine feature that will back up on to our external hard drive at regular intervals automatically.

ArtsMagna is not currently certified to run on Tiger although there are a few Clients doing so and have not reported any issues. I would recommend that you stay as you are and we keep testing your current Backup system as we are planning to do as soon as you resend me the back up file.

Kathleen wants to upgrade our computer to a new iMAC
She wants to put Leopard on it and was wondering if it will cause any problems with AM

Hi Raewyn,
Leopard is not our recommended OS for this version of AM and it isn’t fully tested but I it should be ok to use as a client system. I would not like the 4DServer to be run on Leopard yet.
In conclusion it will be ok to use it on the from POS Mac but not as a back office Server/Client.

Kathleen is thinking about having a third computer so maybe we could run the 4d server off its own computer

Yes, great idea and heaps better performance for you.
But you will have to leave the current server on the current mac on it now and use the new Mac as the new Back Office Client.
